Between the POLICE, Ministry of Justice and the Judiciary in Lagos State

1st of March 2021

In the midst of the Happy New Month greetings, I receive a call at past 7 this morning that some young ladies were arrested at the Cubana Club Ikeja by the Lagos Taskforce on Friday Night and they have been in detention at Oshodi since then.

Reports say they had no access to lawyers and their phones were confisticated

I sent word out to our lawyer volunteers immediately to look into the situation while the brave lawyer who reported to me headed out for Oshodi.

I thought to myself; we must discourage these over-the- weekend detentions and besides we have our special courts working on Saturdays, why werent the suspects arraigned or granted bail on Saturday?

 MOJ please take note

 UPDATE FROM EYE WITNESS:

Suspects are now being moved inside a blackmaria to the taken to the CP's Office

 I ASK:

1. For What?

2. What are the Charges against them that since Friday Night can't be formulated and brought before the Courts

3. Why are the police moving suspects around? Why didn't they take them to the CP's Office from the beginning?

The Judiciary and the MOJ should take note of these incidences when next they wonder why citizens are ANGRY

Is there any Justice in the Land?

This is the kind of attitude by the police that started the #Endsars movement...when will those in authority stand up and do the right thing.

I CALL ON THE JUDICIARY TO TAKE NOTE OF THIS WHEN THESE SUSPECTS ARE ARRAIGNED.

I CALL ON THE OFFICE OF THE DPP TO TAKE NOTE OF THESE INJUSTICES BEFORE THEY APPROVE A CHARGE!
