I am still in shock, He called me on Saturday morning 13th March, at about 10am to say he was likely to be evacuated by ambulance to the hospital for precautionary admission.
His voice was not labored on the phone ; nor did he betray any alarm about his health. I enquired about his oximeter reading (for oxygen intake level) and it sounded pretty good at an average of 98 day after day. It was our last voice conversation, 48 hours later my brother is gone.
A dependable soul, humility personified, an unassuming but dedicated and result focused advocate- a performer in and out of courtroom. For all the two months I was battling my own Covid affliction, Triple Chief, Segun John Odubela SAN was constant as the northern star on the watch for me until I pulled through. He ensured that anybody that could be of help or support got to know quietly.
I am yet to process this sad turn of event . Everybody whose life he touched (and Boy! did he touch a multitude ) must be feeling irreparably diminished by his death . May Lord in heaven accept the gentle , loving and loyal soul of my dear departed brother. Amen 🙏
