DELTA STATE: A PREGNANT WOMAN AND TWO SONS ROASTED BY A FIRE INFERNO IN UGHELLI, DELTA STATE By Ukiri Favour Oghenefejiro.

The incidence as narrated by Ms. Vivian Abomah, a casualty  to our reporter happened in Ughelli Delta State at 1st Amekpa Road on the 17th of May 2021.


Speaking further with another victim of the inferno Mr. Godwin Abomah who lost all his life belongings to the fire incidence. He is one of the occupants of the building engulfed in fire that begin in the flat of the Landlord whose wife and children perished most unfortunately. 

The story is that the said deceased pregnant woman had just filled their gas cylinder that fateful afternoon and was cooking during which she dashed outside the house to get something leaving the gas cooker on low heat. 


It was at that point one of the now deceased sons strayed to the kitchen and turn up the heat of the cooker, reacting to the sudden increase in flames, the newly filled out Gass cylinder exploded while the children were in closed doors.

The pregnant women returning back and realizing what is disaster is going on, she ran into the house to save her children, only unfortunately to slam the entrance door which refused to open due to high temperature and get of the gas fire. Neighbors and fire fighters were seen to trying to put out the fire but it was too late, the trio were roasted dead and the building completely wrecked leaving not a pin for occupants to salvage in the circumstance. 

The building is reported to be of three flats, one of which the Landlord occupied with his family and the others by tenants. Mr. Godwin Abomah is one of the tenants who has his life and his children for keep but for all his life belongings and documents to the very unfortunate fire disaster. 


Ms Vivian Abomah who happened to be one of the casualty affected by the inferno expressed her great loss in grief unimaginably in the tragic story of what led to the gas fire outbreak.
