"In a rare interview session by Newsmen from the Bar and Bench News and Matters of the Nigerian Bar Bloggers with the Learned former Scribe, Mr. Ewenode Onoriode William, the pioneer Secretary of the Effurun Branch of the NBA, a background was laid of himself into his experience as a Legal Practitioner and his involvement in the Leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association.

Mr. Onoriode has this to say on the question ,' Please tell *us* about yourself briefly and your background toward being a Legal Practitioner?'

"Good day ladies and gentlemen, distinguished colleagues. My name is Ewenode Onoriode William, I am a Legal Practitioner practicing in Effurun-Warri, Delta State. For my *Secondary* education, I attended Government College, Ughelli (lGCU), Afterward,  *i* attended the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State and obtained both Certificate in Public Administration and National Diploma in Business.

To realize my long time *dream* of becoming a Lawyer, I went back to school to study Law at the Delta State University, Abraka and finally attended the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus for my B.L. I have been called to the Nigerian Bar and have been practicing since the year 2004. I *am about* 18 years standing of being in the noble profession."

On the question regarding his involvement with the professional Umbrella , the Nigerian Bar **Association*, he clarified that he has been immensely involved in service to the Association for as long as he is a lawyer, actively participating in the affairs of the NBA selflessly , whilst contributing to the legal profession in general as a Litigation Lawyer. The excerpts;

"I have served the NBA in diverse capacities; I have once served the NBA Effurun branch as *the* Branch Secretary and as a matter of fact, *i* was elected the pioneer Secretary, the first Secretary of the Branch from 2016-2018. I had also got elevated by way of election *to* the NBA National  *when i was elected as the 1st Assistant National* Secretary and I served from 2018-2020. At the NBA National Secretariat, I was appointed as the National Welfare Committee Secretary by the Paul Osoro, SAN led administration whereupon we were able to organize and galvanize resources to give out some financial token to young lawyers across the country during the thick of COVID-19 pandemic to cushion the effect of COVID-19 *on Young Lawyers across the 125 NBA Branches.*

Furthermore, I have served in different Committees at the NBA Effurun Branch within 2016-2018.  Like I mentioned earlier, my service as NBA National Welfare Committee Secretary in 2020 attracted a lot of accolades.
*I have been presented  with several Awards of Meritorious service.* I also have been a National Executive Council Member of the Nigerian Bar Association for several years"

Mr. Onoriode described his Law practice as a full time job which he loves with passion and at the same time expressed his unflinching *love* for  the NBA as a Noble Association. *Hear* *him* -

"As a Legal Practitioner that has been into full time practice since my Call to Bar, I am always excited in the court room *, i take law practice as a serious business that requires hard work* .

My hobbies includes writing and reading. Anything Law material you call me and I would be in. My Law Job excites me, same manner I  get elated doing anything relating to NBA. I have served and have an unflinching passion for NBA and as a person everything that can help to make humanity happy is my drive."

He *also* disclosed his involvement in public interest litigation on a Probono basis to the indigents. Please read him;

"I have supported and done *several*  Probono cases. There are cases that I singlehandedly and without funds from any person *conducted* for indigent persons which makes me happy and fulfilled as a life time course. By the grace of God, I have touched so many lives by way of engaging in Probono cases.
