I must start by congratulating Nigerians on the occasion of her 61st Independence Celebration.
Many may not see the essence of celebrating today probably because Nigeria is faced with several challenges. Infact, for our country to attain its full potentials would mean that great efforts must be made by Government and citizens to put the nation on a return journey to prosperity. This journey is of course one that youths must participate actively in.
Furthermore, security of lives and properties is constitutionally stated to be the primary purpose of government but what is being witnessed in the country today deviates from that purpose. But we must not give up hope!.
I enjoin all political actors and stakeholders to appreciate the promise of our motherland and work towards the overall interest of the country.
