May I heartily appreciate the members of NBA Lagos Branch for taking out time to turn out in their large numbers in honour of late Bankole Olumide Aluko (BOA), SAN on his 20th Memorial Anniversary Symposium that was held at Harbor Point, 4 Wilmot Point Road, Victoria Island, Lagos State.
Though the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON led other dignitaries to the event, the members of the Lagos Branch were in an amazing number.
The room was overwhelmingly filled with Lawyers from Lagos Branch who came in their numbers to honour late Bankole Olumide Aluko, SAN.
The dignitaries present included serving and retired Justices of the appellate Courts, Minister, past Governors, Bar Leaders including A.B. Mahmoud, SAN - past President of the NBA, Mrs. Funke Adekoya, SAN, Dr. Babatunde Ajibade, SAN, and an array of distinguished Senior members of both the Inner and the Outer Bar.
The Bankole Olumide Aluko, SAN, 20th Memorial Anniversary Symposium was an epoch-making event that brought profound memories of BOA's lifetime.
It is also recalled that both the Guest Speaker Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON, and the Panel of Discussants dealt exhaustively with the theme of the event which was "Administration of Justice: The Idea Standard, The Nigerian Reality and Our Potential."
I am particularly excited about the show of love and solidarity of NBA Lagos Branch with the Aluko & Oyebode Firm on this special occasion of celebrating a great man. The wife and family of BOA, SAN, felt this love.
The few of us that traveled down for the event left with great memories of how the Bar can stand by her own even after death.
