The Defendant has been arraigned before Magistrate T. A. Shotobi sitting in Magistrate Court 3, Ikorodu.
Mr. E. C. Okonofua appeared for the prosecution. Mrs. Olabisi K. Oyedotun, of the OPD, appeared for the Defendant. I.K.Thany, Esq. with him 1. Mrs. Christiana Elekwachi, 2. Mrs. Titilayo Oloja, 3. Mrs. Bola Tima, 4. Mr. B. A. Odukoya and 5. Mrs. Nneka Nwachukwu watched briefly for the Complainant.
The Defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge but upon preliminary inquiry by the Court admitted slapping the Complainant. The Court chided her for daring to slap a Lawyer in the precinct of the police station.
Application was made for bail by the Defence Counsel. Bail was granted in the sum of N100,000.00, 2 sureties with tax clearance, and one of the sureties must be a blood relation or clergy. Ordered to be remanded in police or prison custody pending the perfection of bail.
Case adjourned till 7/7/2022 for mention.
