DELTA STATE HIGH COURT PROCEEDS ON VACATION TODAY MONDAY. | AGBARAGU TIMOTHY.

The High Court of Justice, Delta State will proceed on a 42 working days annual vacation beginning from today, Monday, August 1st, 2022.

This was contained in a statement by the Chief Judge of Delta State, Honourable Justice Tessy Diai declaring 42 working days of annual vacation for the State High Court.

The vacation notice issued by the Chief Judge said the 2022 vacation shall commence from today Monday, the 1st day of August to Tuesday, the 27th day of September 2022. 

The statement says: "Therefore, pursuant to the Directions under Sections 35 and 36 of the High Court Law, Cap. H3, Volume 3, Laws of Delta State, 2006, the High Court of Delta State shall be on vacation for 42 working days that is, from Monday, the 1st day of August to Tuesday, the 27th day of September 2022."

It further said that the 2022/2023 Legal Year would commence on Wednesday, the 28th day of September 2022.

The statement added that during the vacation period, Honourable Justice N. E. Emudianohwo (Mrs.) shall hear and determine urgent matters/cases/suits in Delta South Senatorial District at the High Court of Justice Warri, while in Delta North Senatorial District Honourable Justice H. O. Akpotohwo will sit as vacation Judge at High Court of Justice, Asaba. 

Honourable Justice C. O. Emifoniye shall preside over cases in Delta Central Senatorial District at the High Court of Justice, Effurun.

The statement directed Honourable Judges, legal practitioners, litigants, stakeholders in the administration of justice and the public to note and take necessary action.
