A BAR DOG EATS DOG - THE NEW TREND OF SOME LAWYERS IN BENIN.

I have been a victim of having trust in people. Recently, I had a matter at the Area Commander Benin Metro. I was assaulted by a girl in front of the Area Commander and others. I invited the current Chairman and two former Chairmen of the Bar to come and see the sacrilege of a girl assaulting a lawyer in front of senior police officers.

They all showed up. When the current Chairman of the NBA left, due to exigencies of duties, that was where my travails began. One of the former Chairmen suddenly became a go-between for the girl that assaulted me. They met behind me after he took her number in my presence to my chagrin and he made his former junior become the girl's lawyer. When I cried out, they both went underground and got a young lawyer - John Nna of 5 Irhirhi road, off Airport road of the Benin Bar to write an outright falsehood for the girl that assaulted me that I led gun men to my own client's house, among other falsehoods. The day they said the incident happened, I was in Court before the Edo State Chief Judge.

For the first time in my life, I wrote a statement under caution because I trusted a lawyer to come to rescue me. The lawyer has been acting as if he was super smart, making me laugh. 

What has our Bar turned to?
