On April 25, 2023, Eniola Wasiu Ibrahim received a life sentence for raping an adult woman, after a trial before Justice R. Oshodi at the Sexual Offences Court in Lagos State.
The court characterized the convict’s actions as animalistic and handed down the maximum punishment for the offence.
The verdict is the result of the efforts of Justice Beyond Hashtags Foundation, represented by its Adejoke Ogunlewe, who worked tirelessly and meticulously with the Nigeria Police Force and the Ministry of Justice in presenting a solid case for nearly two years to bring Eniola Wasiu Ibrahim to justice after he violently assaulted and raped the survivor.
The foundation is pleased to have supported the survivor and welcomes the court's decision.
