Delta State High Court Proceeds on Vacation August-Agbaragu, Timothy.

The Delta State High Court of Justice will proceed on 42 working days annual vacation beginning from Tuesday August 1, 2023.

The vacation notice issued by the Chief Judge, Honourable Justice Tessy Diai stated that the 2023 vacation shall commence from Tuesday, the 1st day of August to Wednesday, the 27th day of September, 2023. 

Honourable Justice Tessy Diai  declared the 42 working days annual vacation in pursuant to Sections 35 and 36 of the High Court Law, Cap. H3, Volume 3, Laws of Delta State, 2006.

It further stated that the 2023/2024 Legal Year would commence on Thursday, the 28th day of September, 2023.


According to the statement, Judges have been assigned to hear only urgent causes, matters and applications in designated court in the three senatorial districts across the state during the period.


It indicated that during the vacation period, Honourable Justice K. O. Okpu shall hear and determine  matters/causes/applications in Delta North Senatorial District at the High Court of Justice, Asaba.

Honourable Justice C. E. Achilefu ( Mrs.) will preside over matters in Delta Central Senatorial District as vacation Judge at High Court of Justice, Effurun, while Honourable Justice E. I. Oritsejafor shall hear matters, causes and applications in Delta South Senatorial District at High Court of Justice, Warri.
