JUDICIARY: THE CHIEF JUDGE OF DELTA STATE, JUSTICE MARSHAL UMUKORO WARMS UP TO RETIREMENT WITH ARRAYS OF ACTIVITIES TO MARK THE SPECIAL EVENT By Agbaragu Timothy, Esq.

The activities marking the retirement of the Delta State Chief Judge, Honourable Justice Marshal Umukoro from the State Judiciary will begin on Tuesday, 18th May, 2021 with courtesy visit on His Excellency, Senator Dr. Arthur Okowa, Governor of Delta State.


According to programme of activities released from the office of the Chief Judge, an inspection of Guard of Honour will be mounted by the Nigeria Police on Thursday, 20th May, 2021 at 9.00 am at High Court 1, Asaba, Delta State.

This will be followed immediately by a valedictory special court session at 10.00 am, at the same venue. There afterwards, there shall be a book launch and reception at 1.00 pm, the same day at the Crescendo Event Centre, Miriam Babangida Way, Asaba. 

The statement added that the Honourable Chief Judge, Justice Marshal Umukoro, will pay a visit to Orphanage Home in Asaba on Friday 21st of May, 2021. 

A novelty football match will be played on Saturday, May 22nd at Squash Club, Government House, Asaba at 10 a.m.


On the 23rd of May, a family thanksgiving is scheduled to hold at the Emmanuel the Saviour Catholic Church, High Court Road, Asaba at 5.30 p.m.

A birthday dinner in honour of the Chief Judge will hold on Monday, May 24, 2021 at the Chief Judge's Lodge, Asaba.


The programme of activities marking the retirement of Honourable Justice Marshal Umukoro, the Chief Judge of Delta State from the State Judiciary shall be rounded up on Sunday, 30th May with a Thanksgiving Mass at His Lordship's country home at Assumption Catholic Church, Ekiugbo-Ughelli, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State at 10.30 a.m.
