His Royal Majesty Oba Kabir Shotobi Ayangbure of Ikorodu hereby announce the demise of CHIEF BABATUNDE OLUSOLA BENSON SAN Asiwaju of Ikorodu today, Thursday 24th June, 2021.
Papa was expecting to celebrate his 89th birthday on 5th July, 2021.
Further announcement and burial arrangement will be made available by the family. HRM thanked God for the life of the deceased. Life of committed service to development of Ikorodu Kingdom and to humanity.
May God forgive his sins and admit his soul into eternal rest.

"ERIN wo! Papa (SIR) Chief Babatunde Olusola Benson, SAN, KJW has gone to rest with the Lord.
He was a mentor to a lot of us both in Methodist Church Nigeria, Ikorodu Division, Lagos State and indeed the Nation.
He was a notable Senior Advocate of Nigeria, a former Lay President of Conference of Methodist Church Nigeria, the Asiwaju of Ikorodu kingdom and indeed, B.O.B was a man of many parts.
Papa Benson was a leading light and pathfinder to many organisations and bodies including our own IKODASS.
I pray that Almighty God will forgive him of his shortcomings, grant his soul rest in HIS eternal kingdom and fortitude granted to his family.
Adieu our amiable Asiwaju!

NBA IKORODU BRANCH ANNOUNCES - OBITUARY!!!
The branch hereby announces the passing away of our life patron Chief Babatunde Olusola Benson SAN KJW. Baba as he is fondly called passed on to the great beyond few hours ago while the branch is rounding off preparation for the annual B.O Benson lecture scheduled to hold on the 1st of July 2021. Baba died at the age of 89.
The branch prays for the repose of his soul and that the family as well as the branch be granted the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

All programs for the law week will hold as earlier scheduled. The branch will always celebrate Chief B.O. Benson even in death.
Baba was the former Vice Chairman of Common-wealth Lawyers Association.
Former President, African Bar Association and Former President, Nigerian Bar Association.
He also holds honorary Doctor of Law, LLD of the Lagos State University (LASU) where he was legal adviser for many years.
