"My clients were recently invited to Abuja from Abeokuta. I wrote to the IGP that they would not honour the invitation due to their state of impecuniosity. Alternatively, i asked the police headquarters to send tickets to them.
However, i suggested that the police in Ogun State be allowed to conduct the investigation of the complaint. My request was adopted.
The NBA leadership ought to meet with the IGP and agree on the treatment of criminal suspects under the Police Establishment Act, 2020. You cannot invite my clients to Abuja for investigation when the law provides for community policing!"
