May I first congratulate all Nigerians on the signing of the Electoral Bill which is now an Act of the National Assembly.
This Electoral Act as amended contains several innovations that will transform our electoral process and entrench greater participation of citizens in election matters.
Some of these innovations includes the electronic transmission of election results, the use of smart card reader during elections etc.
Having achieved this milestone in our quest for a better electoral system, the burden has now shifted to Nigerians to ensure they exercise their franchise and insist that their votes count at elections.
This they can do by picking up the hundreds of thousands of uncollected Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) and if possible, register before the 2023 elections commences.
Going forward, I enjoin all Nigerians to register (for those who are yet to do so) and collect their PVCs as the 2023 general elections draws nearer.
