FIDA IKORODU BRANCH MAKES A STRONG MOVE AGAINST GENDER BASED VIOLENCE IN IKORODU; DEFIES RAIN ON 12 JULY 2022 FOR AN OUTREACH ON SENSITIZATION/ DISSEMINATION OF THE ACTION PLANS ON GBV.

FIDA IKORODU BRANCH Led by the Chairperson Mrs Obaseki Abimbola with some members and the surveillance Team defied the Tuesday 12 July 2022 rainfall as they were in Odongunyan /Odonla Communities on Sensitization/Outreach Walk

THEME: SENSITIZATION/ DISSEMINATION OF THE ACTION PLANS ON GBV

The Baale, Councilor representing the Community, other Group Leaders representing their respective groups participated in the dissemination/ sensitization process as we all shared fliers to Community members as well as in the market place.

Some GBV cases were referred to FIDA IKORODU Legal Clinic tomorrow morning being Wednesday.

The Climax of the event was the presentation of the Copies of Action plan Document to the Baale of Odogunyan by The Chairperson- Mrs Obaseki Abimbola.

While the Program Officer-Adaeze Joy Nkokelonye received the signed copy of commitment letter from the Baale.

The Baale, Iyaloja and the Councilor attested to the fact that there has been drastic reduction in GBV cases as a result of impact of Training sponsored by FORD FOUNDATION and implemented by FIDA NIGERIA in Odongunyan/Odonla Communities.

Stickers were placed in strategic locations within the Communities.

FIDA members present were Obaseki Abimbola-Chairperson, Fadahunsi Adero-Vice Chairperson, Akinkuotu Hilda- Gen Secretary,Tope Mesimo-Project Chairperson, and Ada Nkokelonye-Program Officer.

The event was highly successful.
