NBA NATIONAL OFFICERS' ELECTION 2022: VENI, VIDI, VICCI.
The above were the immortal words of a great legend and historical figure which when translated means: I came! I saw! I conquered!
The curtains have finally fallen on the NBA National Officers' Election 2022, in which you were our Branch Ambassador in the race for the office of Assistant General Secretary.
You fought a good fight and you indeed came, saw, and conquered!
It may not be conquest in the manner most people are familiar with. But, conquest in the spirit of the Olympiad of the ancient Greeks. In the Olympic games what matters is not winning laurels but participation.
You participated in this epic battle and put the Ikorodu Branch in the national consciousness (volksgeist) and on the NBA scoreboard. For a whole day, we were held spellbound and glued to our phones in anticipation of your victory. But it was not to be. You fought gallantly. The Branch is very proud of you. Welcome back home! And this is without prejudice to any immediate or future course of action you may deem fit to take with respect to this election. Rest assured of the Branch support always.
You have joined the Club of the greats of our Branch to wit: the Ogbaras, the Shillings, the Adetunjis, and the Akinlades who projected the image of our Branch to the nooks and crannies of Nigeria and beyond. We are very proud of you.
Though you did not come home with the laurel, we are comforted by your participation, exposure, experience, and contacts which will prove invaluable in your next outing which hopefully will be better than the present; and at a higher level. What is more, you can also mentor coming generations from the Branch on similar exploits and avail them of your experience and contacts. We wish you the best in your future endeavours.
Once again, please do accept our hearty congratulations on your participation in the National Election.
