The Lagos State House of Assembly has passed a bill establishing the Lagos State Deoxyribo-Nucleic Acid and Forensic centre to support criminal investigations, law enforcement, and preservation of evidence for the judicial system and for other connected purposes.
In a statement on Monday, Eromosele Ebhomele, the Chief Press Secretary to the Lagos Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, said that the bill scaled the third reading at plenary with all lawmakers in attendance giving their approvals.
One of the objectives of the centre includes the use and regulation of DNA-based technology in the state in order to carry out profiling or analysis.
