REPORT OF COURTESY CALL ON OUR LIFE PATRON ‐ ODOFIN ADEWUNMI OGUNSANYA, SAN.

The Executive Committee of the Branch yesterday (September 19, 2022) paid a courtesy call on our Life Patron ‐ Odofin Adewunmi Ogunsanya, SAN in his office in Victoria Island, Lagos. 

We were well received by the Distinguished Learned Silk. The atmosphere was relaxed and cordial. We were treated to rib-cracking jokes by our Life Patron who was obviously pleased with our visit.

The highlights of the visit are as follows:

1. Learned Silk was officially informed and presented with his letter of appointment as Life Patron of the Branch by the Chairman. Learned Silk graciously accepted his appointment as Life Patron of the Branch. 

2. The Branch requested the kind intervention of Learned Life Patron in the construction of the Branch Bar Centre. Learned Life Patron undertook to gift the Branch a parcel of land at a choice location in Ikorodu for purpose of construction of the Branch Bar Centre. 

3. Learned Life Patron undertook to build the Branch Bar Centre exclusively at his own cost. The Branch offered to name the Bar Centre when completed after Chief Adebayo Ogunsanya, SAN former President of the NBA and father of our Life Patron to immortalise the former President. 

4. The Branch offered to hold an Annual Lecture in January in honour of Chief Adebayo Ogunsanya, SAN. Learned Life Patron graciously offered to foot the bills of the Lecture. The Branch will immediately set up the Lecture Planning Committee which will incorporate the staff of the office of our Learned Life Patron to facilitate logistical provisions. 

5. Learned Silk offered to host 150 members of the Branch for a three-course Dinner in November/December this year as the end-of-year party. The Branch will choose 150 active members to attend the Dinner. Learned Patron promised to make the Dinner an annual interactive session with him.

6. Learned Patron gifted the Branch Delegates a cheque of N500,000.00 (Five Hundred Thousand Naira). The cheque will be paid into the Branch account today and used for the benefit of all members of the Branch. 

7. Learned Life Patron was presented with all previous editions of our Branch Newsletter.
