At this juncture, this may be unpopular, but by the figures that are facts until rebutted by evidence, the APC has won the Presidential Election in the 1st position. Labour Party at 3rd position with an unprecedented outing, which the APC's candidate must have taken into account.
PDP was rogue as the APC during her 16 years in power and they should not use the neutral youth-driven Labour Party as a decoy to cause a national crisis.
If we, the Obidient, protest for cancellation of APC's win, whom does it benefit? Is it the PDP who is at the 2nd position? Then power remains in the North for another 4 to 8 years. If we insist on a rerun, does Nigeria have the resources and would the security of Nigerian voters be guaranteed? No!
While it is a difficult situation for the opposition from the South to wait another 16 years for power to return to the South, an agreement may be made to elect Peter Obi after Tinubu's 4 years. Isn't this a possibility? Can this pacify the youths and other Southerners? What about the fear of sell-out and betrayal? Can there be modalities to checkmate political sabotage?
I call on fellow Obidient to take this in good faith. Let's join forces with the President-Elect with the same fire of real change to make Nigeria a better place.
The APC know better now that the momentum of the youths in another 4 years can dislodge a mountain with ease if they disappoint Nigerians again.
This is something we can explore, let's do this. However, let us all call for the prosecution and conviction of all fingered in election malpractice and violence. This may also pacify the people.
Ultimately, power belongs to the people, and make no mistake, the war of 1967 cannot have the same consequences as today because the agitation of today for good governance, political freedom, and inclusion is a Nigerian project, not a Biafra or sectional project.
Ask the Yorubas, Hausas, Fulanis, Isokos, and Igbos who revolted with the status quo at the Polls on the 25th of February 2023.
